Our challenge was to design a seamless user experience for booking parking spots in the highly competitive New York City market. This solution needed to be adaptable and easily white-labeled for use by other clients. We needed to create a UI that could be easily rebranded by just altering a few variables.
Our comprehensive branding audit and subsequent brand guidelines established a robust and visually compelling foundation for Parkin.NYC. Through in-depth stakeholder interviews and thorough market research, we developed a distinctive logo that prominently features the iconic Empire State Building, instantly recognizable as a symbol of New York City. The carefully selected color palette, comprised of sophisticated navy blue and elegant grays, reflects the city's established character, while vibrant pops of green inject a touch of dynamism and underscore the company's forward-thinking and progressive approach. In the second phase of the project, we conducted a rigorous user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) audit of Parkin.NYC's existing platform. By meticulously analyzing the pain points experienced by both their direct clients and the end-users of those clients, we were able to provide Parkin.NYC with a strategy for a significantly more streamlined and user-friendly customer experience. Furthermore, we delivered meticulously crafted UI designs that their development team could readily implement and integrate into future product releases, ensuring a seamless transition and consistent brand experience.
Leveraging the established brand identity, we developed a cohesive design system and intuitive user experience for parking search and booking. Competitor analysis and industry research informed our design decisions. To gain a deeper understanding, our team conducted garage visits, explored back-end software, familiarized themselves with industry terminology, and documented pain points faced by garage operators. This comprehensive approach led to a redesigned user interface that offers an aesthetically consistent experience across desktop and mobile platforms.
